Prairie Counseling Center (PCC) is a mission-driven community mental health center dedicated to providing compassionate, whole-person care. We support individuals and families through a wide range of mental health and substance use disorder treatment services. We are seeking a caring and dependable Certified Medical Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and prepare clients for psychiatric appointments
  • Collect and record vital signs, health histories, and other clinical data
  • Administer injections
  • Coordinate lab tests including venipuncture as ordered
  • Support medication management, including sample tracking and inventory
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Collaborate closely with therapists, case managers, and prescribers to support client care
  • Promote a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and culturally sensitive environment

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification

Mobile Crisis Response Counselor (On Call – As Needed)

Prairie Counseling CenterOn-Call$17–$20/hour + Daily Stipend

Bond County Health Department is looking for a counselor to join their mobile crisis response team in the Prairie Counseling Center. The mobile crisis response counselor completes assessments anywhere in the community and makes recommendations for stabilization and support for people in crisis. Must possess a basic understanding of mental health crisis and be able to work with individuals, health care providers, and law enforcement. Services may include emotional support, individual safety planning, and voluntary/involuntary placement when needed.

Education & Experience

  • Must meet Medicaid 132 requirements for a Mental Health Professional (MHP), OR possess a Medicaid approved bachelor's degree, OR possess a bachelor's degree in any other field with two years of supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting
  • Minimum age 21 years
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Rate of Pay

$17–$20/hour for hours worked, plus daily on-call stipend:

  • $25/day on weekdays (Tuesday–Friday)
  • $33/day on weekends (Saturday–Monday)
  • $37.50/day on holidays

Research Analyst (Part-Time – up to 29 hours per week)

A research analyst is needed to work in the areas of emergency preparedness and response, community networking, and as a community health worker ambassador. Position is remote with some on-site requirements for up to 29 hours per week. This is a temporary position until June 30, 2026, with the potential of extension based on grant funding.

Responsibilities

Emergency Preparedness and Response

  • Update and maintain the Bond County Health Department Emergency Operations Plan
  • Update and maintain Memorandum of Understanding's with community partners
  • Increase the amount of Closed Point of Dispensing locations within Bond County
  • Complete basic FEMA NIMS training courses (ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800)
  • Complete and implement the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) training

Community Network Anchor

  • Be part of a team who coordinates, organizes, streamlines and grows community networks
  • Identify groups in the IDPH Metro East Region with lived experience in mental health, public health, behavioral health, wellness, family-centered care and general health needs of local communities
  • Support local community networks to prevent and mitigate crises by utilizing creative and coordinated approaches to existing supports
  • Report regional data and information to IDPH and report regional and statewide data and information out to community networks
  • Ideal candidates will be interested in promoting system change and efforts to support the growth of local and community resources

Community Health Worker Ambassador

  • Recruit and engage local employers to integrate CHW positions into their workforce
  • Conduct readiness assessments to prepare employers for CHW integration
  • Recruit and guide community members to CHW training and certification

Dental Hygienist (PRN)

The Bond County Health Department Dental Clinic is seeking a dental hygienist to work on an as needed basis. This would be to cover days off for the other hygienist and would be a varied schedule. The individual must be friendly, courteous, and able to establish trust with patients of all ages. This rewarding opportunity includes providing dental care and related clinic procedures along with community dental health education activities.

Responsibilities

  • Completes patient assessments to identify needs and oral health issues
  • Provides treatment planning by establishing realistic goals and treatment strategies to facilitate optimal oral health
  • Implements treatment as identified and provides ongoing evaluation to determine goals are met

Clinic Office Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Work Schedule: Intermittent based on need; no set number of hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved school of dental hygiene
  • License to practice in Illinois
  • Previous experience preferred but not required
